St. Bernard’s National School, Crumlin

St. Bernard’s National School, Crumlin, is a co-educational Catholic primary school in the parish of Abbeyknockmoy. We are a rural school situated on a 3 acre site and are lucky to have ample green space with two pitches, a basketball court and two play areas for the children.  Our school models and promotes a holistic approach to teaching in a caring environment where children are encouraged,  nurtured and respected in order for them to develop as well rounded individuals and to reach their full potential in all areas.

In September 2014, 123 Students were enrolled in our school. We have five mainstream class teachers and one Learning Support/Resource Teacher. Niamh Molloy is Principal of the school since September 2007 and Carolyn Ní Fhatharta is the Deputy Principal.

We are fortunate to have two music teachers visit our school on a weekly basis, Johnny Gilies for tin-whistle and flute, and Katharine MacMaghnuis for violin, viola and cello.

We are also delighted to have Sarah Griffin as our visiting Drama Teacher.

Susan Shaughnessy teaches Irish Dancing after school from 2.10pm – 4.10pm.

Orla Forde Wilson takes after school art classes for 8 weeks during the Autumn/Winter Term.
