World Water Day
Wednesday, March 22nd is World Water Day.
World Water Day is about taking action to tackle the global water crisis. Today, there are over 663 million people living without a safe water supply close to home.
As a Green-Schools, our work on – and maintenance of – the theme of Water is helping to spread awareness of the Global Goals and of water issues locally and across the world.
C.N.S. are holding a ‘Walk for Water’ event. Walking for Water involves walking six kilometres with six litres of water (distance and weight will be adapted for younger students) to highlight the average distance walked in countries with issues of water scarcity by women and children to access clean water.
We hope to participate in Walking for Water on the 22nd of March, weather permitting. We will set off on our walk at 9.30am. 2nd to 6th Class will walk 6k with 5th and 6th carrying the 6 litres. Juniors to 1st will walk a shorter distance. Grandparents, Parents and families are invited to join us for this very important event.
