Travel Action Day
On the 22nd of February, C.N.S. held their Travel Action Day and what a day of action it was!! It started off with the majority of our pupils walking or cycling to school in their fancy dress attire. They were then treated to a healthy breakfast, kindly served by Mairead, Marie and Sharon and sponsored by Donegal Foods and Flynn’s of Lackagh.
Two members of Athenry Fire Brigade visited the school with the fire truck and gave a fire safety talk. Next, we got to hear lovely stories from Abby’s Granny about how she travelled to school. Anne Browne also gave a lovely presentation about where she travels to with her work.
The day finished with a display of an electric car and parents were invited to visit each classroom to view projects, art work, experiments and listen to songs and poems completed by the children based on the travel theme.
Huge thanks to all the parents, grandparents and past pupils who helped out and contributed to our Action Day. Thank you also to our wonderful students for their very creative costumes and enthusiasm about the occasion. It was a very enjoyable and memorable day.
