Junior and Senior Infants School Tour

Junior and Senior Infants had a great day at the Burren Nature Sanctuary in Kinvara.  Everyone loved feeding the animals, the enchanting  “Faerie Woods”, becoming nature detectives on the nature walk and having fun in the indoor and outdoor play areas.

First, Second and Third School Tour

First, Second and Third Class went to Lahinch for their school tour.  The sun shined and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day.  First port of call was Lahinch Sea Word where the children got to swim, have turns in Zorb balls and The Eliminator.  Afterwards we investigated rock pools at the beach where we found loads of creatures and interesting things.   We finished up the day with a bouncy castle and playground.

Summer School Play

All of the classes did extremely well in our school play.  We have a wealth of budding actors and actresses!  We hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did 🙂

Butterflies with Ms McCallion’s Class

We  studied the Lifecycle of the Butterfly.  We had our own butterfly garden where we got to see with our own eyes the transformation from caterpillar to chrysalis  to butterfly.   A few days after the caterpillars had changed into the chrysalis  we moved them from the caterpillar cup to the butterfly garden, where we waited patiently until the butterflies hatched out of the chrysalis.  This took around a week.  We then had to feed them with pieces of fruit and sugar water.  We all really enjoyed observing the lifecycle, updating our caterpillar to butterfly diaries and then setting the beautiful Painted Lady Butterflies free.
